The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) students and campus Chaplaincy department is spearheading programs meant to support students who are struggling to pay tuition fees.
The College in partnership with religious organizations recently hosted a fundraising concert where various gospel artists who include Marbel Madondo and Joyful Praise performed.
UZ Chaplain Reverend Eunice Marima said the programs are unifying students from different backgrounds.
“It has created a culture of feeling for someone within the students and it has managed to bring them together whether poor or rich.
“The fundraiser was a clear indication of student development as they organized the event themselves in line with the education model 5.0” Rev. Marima said
She appealed to corporate world to partner with students for the noble cause
“As for me l appeal to the corporate world to make partnership with the students as for their welfare is concerned. It is not about giving them money only but giving them responsibility to work and to get an appreciation of that”
“One day they are students and tomorrow leaders and they have started exhibiting leadership skills,” she said
