Chamisa Slams Govt’s Helicopter Acquisition
By Sifiso Ngwenya
In a scathing attack of the government’s recent acquisition of 18 helicopters from the federation of Russia, Nelson Chamisa, leader of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change, denounced the move as a display of wrong priorities, bad interventions, and bad intentions.
Chamisa called on Zimbabweans to opt for change, happiness, and the selection of new leaders to steer the nation towards a brighter future.
The helicopters, which were reportedly intended for air rescue and policing purposes, have sparked controversy and drawn the attention of opposition parties, who question the government’s motives behind the procurement.
Chamisa, who is always promising a better Zimbabwe when he come into power wasted no time in criticizing the decision.
“Wrong leaders always have wrong priorities and wrong answers. Bad leaders always have bad interventions and bad intentions,” Chamisa stated emphatically. When it’s rotten at the top, everything else stinks and sinks!! Choose change. Choose happiness. Choose new leaders!!” said Chamisa
He believes that the allocation of resources towards acquiring helicopters for air rescue and policing, amid numerous pressing issues that require urgent attention, highlights a misalignment of priorities.
Critics argue that the acquisition of helicopters may not be the most efficient use of resources, particularly considering the pressing needs for healthcare, education, infrastructure development, and social welfare.
Skepticism persists over whether the government’s decision truly reflects a commitment to improving the lives of the Zimbabwean people or if it serves other hidden agendas.
