Chamisa Says CCC Candidates’ List Now Ready

By Staff Reporter

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa has revealed that the party’s community consensus candidates list is now ready.

In a tweet, Chamisa expressed confidence in his party’s strength throughout the country saying Harare and Bulawayo’s list are yet to be finalized for what he says ‘strategic considerations’.

“We don’t have losing candidates. All are just the most preferred community consensus candidates. The list is ready except for Bulawayo and Harare, and this is for on account of strategic considerations,” Chamisa announced, emphasizing the importance of strategic decision-making in these key regions.

Chamisa further asserted the significance of Zimbabwe as his party’s stronghold, stating, “Zimbabwe is our stronghold. We are strong everywhere. We are even stronger in the rural areas!”.

He expressed his concerns about the current state of the country and called for divine intervention to alleviate the suffering of the Zimbabwean people.

“ONLY GOD WILL DELIVER US from this unbearable suffering, pain, tears, and humiliating failure.”

The opposition leader went on to enumerate various issues plaguing Zimbabwe, expressing his determination to overcome them.

“All negative ratings will be a thing of the past. We can’t be a country with a record; Inflation, Corruption, Unemployment, Debt, Mafias in gold, lithium, tobacco Violence, Traffic accidents, Child marriages, Human rights abuses, Drug abuse, Disputed elections,” Chamisa proclaimed, underscoring the need for comprehensive reforms to address these pressing challenges.

The opposition movement dumped the traditional primary elections for candidates opting for the community consensus candidate selection which has seen a fair share of criticism from across the political divide.

CCC remained resolute and tasked an independent committee to assist in the vetting and validation of selected candidates for the upcoming harmonised elections expected to be held in August.
