Concerns continue rising over the sprouting of Chinese run casinos amid speculation several of them are not complying with the regulatory laws of the Lotteries and Gaming Board.
Recently government through the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Kazembe Kazembe availed resources to the Lotteries and Gaming Board to assist in the clamping of illegal operators and confirmed that there are growing reports of wanton transgressors.
His warning comes a few weeks after residents in Belgravia also raised concerns over illegal operations at a local Chinese run casino with sources close to the developments confirming that some Chinese and Cambodians at the casino were recently arrested by the Immigration department.
Meanwhile, another Chinese run casino along Samora Machel and Glenara in Harare was launched a few days after Kazembe’s warning of illegal operators.
“I want to warn these illegal operators and implore my officers to understand that there are no sacred cows within the gaming industry,” said Kazembe during the commissioning of the three Toyota GD6 vehicles to improve operational efficiency on the board.
Meanwhile, the Lotteries and Gaming Board authorities were not available for comment during the time of publishing
