Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Dr. Tarmer Almassri today handed over seven boreholes to the government of Zimbabwe in a move that solidifies unity between the government of Zimbabwe with The State Of Palestine .
Handing over the boreholes in Harare’s Epworth suburb, Ambassador Almassri said the people of Palestine will continue to support the government of Zimbabwe because of the bond that the two nations have been sharing.
” After attaining independence in 1980 , Zimbabwe was the first country to open an embassy for The State Of Palestine , we share the same predicament of the apartheid history that Zimbabwe went through and Zimbabwe has been very supportive to the Palestinian people in our pursue for our independence from the Israel apartheid government.
Professor Obert Jiri received the boreholes on behalf of deputy minister Davis Marapira .
“We are gathered here to witness another milestone in the water sector’s drive to achieving universal access to safe water for all . As government we feel greatly honoured to be receiving these boreholes, that have in the interim eased challenges of accessing portable water to the people of Epworth ” said Prof Jiri.
He added “The President His Excellency Dr. ED Mnangagwa has eloquently stated his vision for the country to become prosperous and empowered upper middle income society by 2030 . As part of the accomplishment of this vision , the National Development Strategy ( NDS1) was crafted.”
