Afro-pop artist Garikai Munashe Mapanzure, also known as Gary, tragically passed away in the early hours of the morning.
His life was claimed at 3 am at a local hospital, as a result of severe injuries sustained in a fatal road accident that took two lives instantly on the Beitbridge-Masvingo highway the previous day.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that Garry was a passenger in the vehicle driven by his sister, who also lost her life in the accident, along with Garry’s nephew, a student at Great Zimbabwe University.
The collision occurred when their vehicle collided with another.
In the wake of this tragedy, socialite Hillary Makaya, have voiced her sorrow and frustration regarding local ambulance service provider Mars Zimbabwe’s response alleging that the service provider demanded $2.9k to transport Garry from Masvingo to Harare for essential medical treatment.
Makaya further claimed that despite pleas from Garry’s family, who promised to pay upon arrival, Mars Zimbabwe allegedly refused to proceed without upfront payment, intensifying the distress surrounding the musician’s untimely demise.

The model said that Garry Mapanzure would still be alive if Mars Zimbabwe had not deprived him of the medical attention he needed. “Garry fought for his life for 10 hours Straight! He could have lived but you deprived him of urgent medical attention..”.
