Mr Pace Zimpost Half Marathon A Success

This year’s Mr Pace Zimpost half marathon was an even grander success, with Wyne Kabondo and Fortunate Chidzivo claiming victory during the event held at the National Sports Stadium B Arena on Saturday.
Kabondo, 25, from Mr Pace Athletics Club completed the race in one hour, four minutes, and 57 seconds, securing the top spot ahead of Wellington Warevi of Black Rhinos, who finished in second place.
Warevi secured the second position, finishing in one hour, five minutes, and 42 seconds. Blessing Waison followed closely behind, taking the third spot with a time of one hour, eight minutes, and 13 seconds.
In the women’s category, Chidzivo led the pack with a time of one hour, 15 minutes, and 30 seconds, just ahead of Daise Kipsufiut of Mr Pace, who clocked in at one hour, 13 minutes, and 12 seconds.
Filipa Dube rounded off the podium in third place with a time of one hour, eight minutes, and 13 seconds.
Martha Mashamanda, the manager of Mr Pace club, expressed satisfaction following the successful event.
“We are happy with the turnout as you have witnessed this year’s event was bigger than the previous one.
“There was a road map for the race, and all the athletes managed to finish the race without any incidents.
“We have attracted athletes from all over the country and we are glad that most of the athletes managed to finish the races within the range of the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe.
“Some were even close to the Olympic qualification times,” she said.
