In a highly anticipated announcement, President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to disclose the date for the upcoming harmonized national elections, as reported by the State-run newspaper, the Chronicle.
The President himself revealed this information during a public engagement in Binga earlier today, where he also stressed the importance of active participation in the democratic process.
During the official commissioning of newly constructed classroom blocks at Mabobolo Secondary School, which falls under the jurisdiction of Chief Pashu, President Mnangagwa confirmed that the election date would be made public tomorrow, Sunday.
His statement has been met with a sense of anticipation and excitement among Zimbabweans, who eagerly await the opportunity to exercise their voting rights.
“Tomorrow (Sunday), I will be announcing the election day,” President Mnangagwa declared, affirming his commitment to ensuring a transparent and fair electoral process.
Recognizing the significance of the elections, he encouraged the people of Binga to protect their cultural heritage by actively participating in the voting process.
“When elections are conducted, every person in Binga should safeguard our heritage by voting. If we do not vote properly, individuals without Zimbabwe’s best interests at heart will take over. We must protect and preserve our heritage,” Mnangagwa said
Meanwhile, the ruling party, ZANU PF, has intensified its efforts to recruit new members across Zimbabwe, as it sets its sights on securing five million votes in the upcoming polls.
The party successfully concluded its primary election process and awaits the announcement to hit the ground with campaigns.
