Soldier Arrested at Harare Magistrates’ Court Over US$66k Bus Fraud

A soldier was arrested at the Harare Magistrates Court for allegedly defrauding a local businessman of US$66,000 in a failed bus purchase deal.

Faison Samambwa was at the Harare Magistrates’ Court attending a court hearing in a matter he is claiming US$14 000.

It is alleged that Samambwa falsely claimed to be selling a bus to the businessman only identified as Tonderai who paid US$35,000, along with extra fees for bus repairs.

However, it was later revealed that Samambwa did not own the bus and had not used the money to make the necessary repairs.

Samambwa is currently cooperating with the police investigation and has not yet appeared in court.
