Outspoken Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa says Winky D is more patriotic than individuals who are hiding under Zanu PF to make money.
Posting on micro blogging Twitter, Mliswa says Winky D is a refreshing artist through his socially relatable music.
“I’m an Amapiano fanatic but following the noise over @winkydonline I had to listen and see what he is about. The guy is good. I have never met him or talked with him but as a young person he is a refreshing artist with his consciousness& socially relatable music.
“Musical talents such as Winky D seldom have wisdom in equal measure as he exudes if you dissect his lyrical tapestry. His catalogue of albums especially Njema, show an artist grounded in his national ethos more than those faking patriotism by attacking him.
“In fact, Winky D is more patriotic than the horde of fake prophets, bush organisations and opportunists hiding in ZANU PF just to make money. Only the truth will progress this nation,” said Mliswa
Winky D has been on the receiving end particularly from Zanu PF supporters who viewed his recently launched album Eureka as political.
Zanu PF aligned Economic Empowerment Group (EEG) has called for a ban of Winky D’s music.
