Isaac “Zeal” Mandava, one of the young artists mentored by the late music legend Dr. Oliver Tuku Mtukudzi, dropped a single track titled “Tiriparwendo” on the 16th of November.

Speaking during the launch of this track at Pakare Paye Arts Centre last weekend, the leader of the Afro Zest Band said this song is a motivation for everyone that life is a journey that needs a person to push.

“The song was inspired by the general life journeys of people, including me. It is basically about motivating each other to keep pushing our goals as people because life is a journey.”

“We are reminded that God is there and He is on our side, so we should not lose hope, but we must stay vigilant as we pursue our dreams and aspirations,” he said.

Mandava has been working on an album this year, and it is expected to come out in early 2025.He has been doing a number of live shows across Harare and also had a show in Zambia a few months back.

The band performs every Friday at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton. The band has also been opening some of Victor Kunonga’s shows in Harare.

“There is an album we are releasing early next year and also a number of singles that we have released over the years, which include ‘Chipo, Akudziwe and Nzira.'”

“We are working on some collaborations with Victor Kunonga and Pastor Hayisa.”

All year round, we have been doing shows at Jameson Hotel, Reg Eagle, Pakare Paye, Chop Chop Msasa, and others in Beitbridge and Zambia said Mandava.

The artist has lined up of gigs this year, on 22 November at Chop Chop Msasa with Victor Kunonga, and on 29 November at Pakare Paye.

He developed a musical interest in the acoustic guitar when he was very young.
