Equatorial Guinea S*xtape Leak: Woman commits suicide?
By Tafadzwa Gumunyu
In a twist turn of events, one woman who was involved into the 400-sex tape viral videos in Equatorial Guinea is said to have committed suicide.
This was confirmed by @Naija_PR on X (formerly twitter) and the message read, ” One of the women in the Equatorial Guinea s*x scandal allegedly committed suicide after seeing her trending videos everywhere”.
This comes after at least hundreds of intimate videos leaked on social media showing the director of Equatorial Guinea’s tax administration, with wives and daughters of ministers, dignitaries and generals.
Since hundreds of sexual guides have emerged from Equatorial Guinea, social media has been overrun.
They depict a man having s*x with a variety of women, frequently in his office, periodically with an Equatorial Guinean flag in the background. The man is identified as Baltasar Ebang Engonga known in Malabo as Bello.
The government of Guinea vowed to order the immediate suspension of all civil servants who have had sexual relations in the offices of the ministries, as they said that this constitutes a flagrant violation of the code of conduct and the law on public ethics, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, the country’s Vice President posted on X on Monday.
According to state television TVGE, the recordings flooded on social networks during the period he was being held in custody at Malabo’s notorious Black Beach prison in connection with a case involving misuse of public funds.
However, ever since the s*x tapes leaked on the internet, social media has been buzzing with different reactions to the developing story. It has been described as the biggest sex scandal Equatorial Guinea has ever seen.
Reacting to this shocking revelation, multiple social media users have shared their thoughts :
An X user with the handle @official_fayed wondered why the women willingly agreed to be filmed during the act. “The scariest thing from this Equatorial Guinea video is the fact that the sex wasn’t coerced,” he wrote.
Condemning the act as a shameful one, a user with the handle @olaMVB wrote, “Again, African leaders are a reflection of African people. It’s simple. I’ve been waiting on those videos from Equatorial Guinea. Now, i wish i could unseen it. It’s difficult to believe that a leader holding a key position in the society could do such…It’s a shame!!!!”
A threads user by the username @jimNjue commented on saying,” The fact that the Equatorial Guinea officer was able to sleep with 6 out of the 8 female workers in his office is exactly why l will never wife up a career woman. I strongly believe that a woman’s money should always come from her man”.
The limits between private behaviour and public responsibilities in Equatorial Guinea’s government have been called into question by the leaked tapes, which have brought attention to the private lives of public leaders.
