Zanu PF Blames Mugabe For Electricity Challenges

The ruling Zanu PF party has blamed the late former President Robert Mugabe for the current electricity challenges in the country.

In an interview with South Africa’s eNCA television, Zanu PF national spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa said the Mugabe’s mismanagement had plunged the nation into the current crisis.

“The power crisis that the country is facing currently is a product of years of neglect within Zimbabwe in particular. The mismanagement, the arm-fisted mismanagement of the last two decades of Mugabe and his G40s obviously has a negative pull. It is retarding the speed of recovery, but you can’t doubt that recovery is going on,” said Mutsvangwa

The power shortages being experienced is as a result of low water levels at the Kariba Dam hydro plant and the maintenance of the Hwange thermal power station.
