Two Robbery Suspects Nabbed, Third One Flees With Loot

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred on Unity Day in Rushinga.

In a statement the ZRP said the suspects were identified by one of their victims at The Marymount Business Centre, leading to their arrest whilst one of them fled with the loot.

“Police in Rushinga have arrested Kudzai Makwesha (37) and Jairos Chiyangwa (44) in connection with two cases of robbery which occurred on 22/12/22 between 0010 hours and 0110 hours, at a homestead at Mushongahande Village and a tuckshop at Chamwa Village, where US$275 and ZWL$ 800 cash, groceries and property worth US$2021.00 were stolen.

“The second complainant identified the suspects at Marymount Business Centre, leading to their arrest. The first complainant was shot with a pistol on the ankle and is admitted at a local hospital. Meanwhile, the other suspect, only identified as Tafadzwa fled with the loot, in the suspects’ get-away vehicle, a Mazda Bongo, registration number AFB 5825. Investigations are underway,” read the statement

Robbery cases have been on the increase in the country with members of the ZRP acting swiftly to apprehend some of the suspects.
