Man (22) Arrested For Killing Neighbour

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a murder case in which a twenty-eight-year-old man was found dead in a disused mine shaft near Esigodini Business Centre on Monday.

In a statement, police national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the suspect was arrested the suspect after receiving a tip off from members of the public.

“Police in Esigodini are investigating a case of murder in which the victim, Mfundisi Dube (28) was found dead in a disused mine shaft near Esihlengeni Business Centre on 17/04/23. The victim was found with several cuts on the head with the legs tied with a shoe lace.

“The police arrested Robert Maplaka (22) in connection with the case, after receiving a tip off that the suspect was allegedly seen assaulting the victim. Meanwhile, police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of murder in which Denage Moyo (36) died on Tuesday whilst admitted at United Bulawayo Hospitals after being attacked by a mob on the previous day at Tilas Mine, for allegedly stealing a jack hammer. 

“Police has since arrested, Arnold Nkiwane (24), Patrick Sibanda (42), Welshman Ncube (22), Godfrey Zulu and Alick Zulu, in connection with the case. The other suspects, Prince Sibanda, Romeo Ndlovu and Cobangani Ndlovu are on the run,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi
