Thabo Bester, Nandipha Back In SA After Tanzania Capture

By Staff Reporter

Thabo Bester, a convicted murderer-rapist and his partner Dr. Nandipha Magudumana, who had been on the run since fleeing their luxurious R12m Hyde Park residence in March, arrived back in South Africa this morning from Tanzania.

Along with a Mozambican citizen, they were apprehended during the Easter holidays while travelling from Arusha to the Kenyan border.

The couple returned to Johannesburg’s Lanseria airport on a chartered flight under heavy security presence.

SAPS police ministry spokesperson, Lirandzu Themba, announced that police minister Bheki Cele and justice minister Ronald Lamola would brief the nation on Bester and Magudumana’s deportation proceedings on Thursday.

A delegation from South Africa travelled to Tanzania to arrange for their transfer back to the country.

On Thursday, at around 4am, a police van was observed leaving the airplane that had just landed.
