Zimbabwe Politics Is Complex Says Chamisa

By Staff Reporter

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa, has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on the complexities of Zimbabwean politics.

In a tweet posted on Wednesday, Chamisa warned against publicly disclosing political strategies, which he believes could undermine the party’s effectiveness.

“Zimbabwean politics is a complex and tricky space hence the need for a more cautious approach,” Chamisa said urging his followers to “say less, weigh more.”

“Zimbabwe Politics is Complex..In this space, it’s excessively unwise to lavishly democratize strategies or publicize tactics without diminishing or undermining their effectiveness. Our competitor is tricky. We must be trickier! Say less, weigh more! Blessed Wednesday!” Chamisa added.

Chamisa’s comments come as the country gears up for the 2023 general elections, which are expected to be fiercely contested.

The opposition leader has faced pressure within and outside his party over his “soft” approach towards the ruling ZANU-PF party.

Chamisa’s warning against publicly disclosing political strategies is based on fears of infiltration by suspected ZANU-PF loyalists who may destabilize the party.

Some critics have labeled Chamisa as politically immature over his handling of the party, while others have criticized him for his lack of transparency in the wake of the recent election candidate selection process.

The process was marred by violence in some areas, amid allegations of ambiguity in the selection of candidates.

The party is today expected to announce candidates who have been nominated to stand on the party ticket for the harmonized elections set for between July 26 and August 26.
