Centre to Tackle GBV and Food Insecurity Launched in Marondera

A learning centre aimed at addressing gender-based violence and food insecurity code named Shamwari Yepedyo has been launched in Marondera.
The learning centre will raise awareness and provide education and training opportunities to empower women and equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
Speaking during the launch, founder of the World Changers Organisation, gender champion, and entrepreneur Kundai Masache emphasized the centre’s strategic goal, noting the importance of empowering women and young people in Zimbabwe.
” The strategic goal of this centre is to curb gender-based violence by creating awareness and guaranteeing food security through capacity building.
“I have started with the egg production process which I believe it will emancipate women, the learning center will receive professional lessons from Profeeds company henceforth it will serve as educational hub for young people in Marondera and the surrounding communities,” said Masache
Tracey Hunter, director of Associated Tyres and Pro Tyre Fitment Centres, officially opened the Shamwari Yepedyo learning centre scheme, expressing pride and admiration for Masache’s determination in helping communities.
“I am proud and honoured to see Kundai’s determination in his programs that are meant to help communities and I vow to continue in supporting him,” said Hunter
The Dutch embassy sponsored the initiative, recognizing the importance of gender equality and education in addressing societal issues such as gender-based violence and food insecurity.
