Tineyi and Tapiwa Chisikarambwe, the dynamic twin brothers from Goromonzi have embarked on a noble journey by establishing the Chisi Sharks cricket academy.

The twins expressed a dual commitment to nurturing local talent and addressing societal challenges, particularly combating issues like substance abuse

“We are setting an agenda of our academy so as to make things flourish well. We want to nature the talent in the our community as well as removing kids from drugs and early pregnancies through the sport as we have been aware of those problems lately, as well as giving kids in the rural community equal opportunity to play cricket with kids in urban areas,” they said.

The brothers shared their academy’s footprint across various communities and results have been encouraging.

“The academy has played withs teams from Glenview, Dzivarasekwa, Mufakose, Chitungwiza and other surrounding areas producing encouraging results with over 60 kids of different age groups.

“Like any other academies, we are having some challenges which are hindering things to flourish which include shortage of money to travel regularly, food for the kids during games and proper equipment as we can’t afford,” said the twins.

However, the journey is not without hurdles.

The twins candidly acknowledge challenges, including financial constraints hindering regular travel, ensuring proper nutrition for the young players during games, and acquiring essential equipment on a tight budget.

Undeterred, they highlight the untapped potential within their talented pool of boys and girls, extending an open invitation to new participants.
